There are a lot of poetic quotes in that book. It's also... an amazing love story. I'm glad my Lit. teacher made me read it all those years ago, because I still think about it today.
I had killed a big snake—I was now a big fellow.
“This is the reality, whether you like it or not. All those frivolities of summer, the light and shadow, the living mask of green that trembled over everything, they were lies, and this is what was underneath. This is the truth.” It was as if we were being punished for loving the loveliness of summer. (85)
She danced every dance like a waltz, and it was always the same waltz—the waltz of coming home to something, of inevitable, fated return.
But that don’t mean I’ll lose you. Look at my papa here; he’s been dead all these years, and yet he is more real to me than almost anybody else. He never goes out of my life. I talk to him and consult him all the time. The older I grow, the better I know him and the more I understand him.
Since I’ve been away, I think of you more often than of anyone else in this part of the world. I’d have liked to have you for a sweetheart, or a wife, or my mother or my sister—anything that a woman can be to a man. The idea of you is a part of my mind; you influence my likes and dislikes, all my tastes, hundreds of times when I don’t realize it. You really are a part of me.
Whatever we had missed, we possessed together the precious, the incommunicable past.

I have a strange feeling with regard to you. As if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly knotted to a similar string in you. And if you were to leave I'm afraid that cord of communion would snap. And I have a notion that I'd take to bleeding inwardly. As for you, you'd forget me.
I have for the first time found what I can truly love–I have found you. You are my sympathy–my better self–my good angel–I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely: a fervent, a solemn passion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you, draws you to my centre and spring of life, wrap my existence about you–and, kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one.
And it is you, spirit--with will and energy, and virtue and purity--that I want, not alone with your brittle frame.
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

'They don't find it,' I answered.
'And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water...'
'Of course,' I answered.
And the little prince added, 'But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart.'”
