And I made Russian Honey Cake yesterday. It is very good, but I can make improvements next time, which needs to be soon because the recipe made waaaay too much icing.

Those " Yelloweye Rockfish " actually live on an average of 114 to 120 years.

Well, the Red Emperor has a slightly sticky feel in a good way, but the flesh is very firm and beautifully polished and clumped together with a nice taste. It is amazing to eat whether steamed or baked. Unless you can catch them, they are also relatively expensive but very common in seafood Restaurants here.
Well, we wouldn't really know if they taste similar. Seems like we both only tried one but not the other lol. But I am pretty sure you guys have scorpionfish and dammn, you can also even buy them in Asian markets in Los Angeles. I've never personally seen them offered for sale in Australia. So envious of LA.

Scorpionfish are called poor man lobster here because they're not lobsters (obviously) yet it tastes quite remarkably similar to a lobster flesh. They're also too easy to catch at the eastern rocky shoreline and I used to throw them back because I thought there was no way such fish could be delicious or even safe to eat. Until one other fisherman told me they were edible and then looked up recipes.
The best way to cook them is by flash-frying then stewing them in rich sauces and it's not only difficult to tell it from lobster but you can almost fool anyone that it's lobster if done properly, so I don't throw them back in the water anymore as there's no size or bag limit and they are under-rated.
Man who stand on hill with mouth open will wait long time for roast duck to drop in.
