haha i am so embarassed about it. although to be fair, i dont pay much attention to it whilst its on. im mostly flicking through #mafsau on twitter to read all the witty comments.

even stations like sbs and abc air questionable segments these days. 4 corners is a good example. its lazy journalism at best. its just too hard to find credible information in media these days.

I will totally agree when anyone says that ordinary seasonal flu 's lethality is way underestimated by most people. In France only, seasonal flu usually kills between 8000 & 10000 people every year. As the flu epidemic is over this seaon, we have some figure & know that it killed "only" 7200 people in France, counted in March 2020 (see sources below).
Although I also believed ―based of the figures we had 2 or 3 months ago― that Covid-19's importance was way much too emphasized in the news & all over social media, now considering the data we have, Covid-19 cannot & should not be tagged as "not as bad" as seasonal flu. Norway may be lucky to be spared, but not all countries as so lucky. As of yesterday (April 17, 2020) Covid-19 already killed 18681 people in France, way more than seasonal flu did this year. Also died 22745 people in Italy, 20002 in Spain, 37154 in the US. And sadly, the Covid-19 epidemic is not over yet.
The good news is the recovery rate is much larger that the lethality.
France: 147,969 infected / 18,681 died / 34,420 recovered

No doubt that the corona virus is an aggressive son of a bitch who goes straight for the lungs and infect rapidly... BUT, the media is blowing it up more than it needs to be. The normal everyday flu has killed way more people, than the corona virus have done So far. And nobody takes the flu serious, because we've had it for ages, and it is slightly less aggressive.

Sure, Norway has been Lucky with only 150 deaths So far. A normal flu would kill at least 2000 of us. If u look at the statistics per country, corona really isnt as bad as the media blows it up to be. We keep hearing about everyone that dies, but never about those people who were infected and LIVED.

Despite all this, i am not bothered by the lockdown as much as many others. Maybe in the future, when i Actually do have the flu, my boss Will say 'stay at home until u get better', rather than 'you dont get the Day off unless u break your arms'.

Next time, just tell your boss you got this exotic "Chinese" flu from eating rat sushi. He might send you home with a severance pay.
