5 ideas of how to make the best out of your experience on HA

People would often ask why they don't get enough replies when messaging other people. Though I can't guarantee that you'll get the replies form anyone you write to, I can, however, give you tips that will increase your chances and maybe find what you are looking for on HA.

Have an informative profile
I think this will help the most. Displaying your personality on your profile will help others get to know you better. This includes having a profile picture that clearly shows your face. 

Also fill out your profile. The more things you list on your profile, the higher your chances that you can connect with other people. Tell others what makes you tick. Tell others what you are looking for. Just make sure you don't reveal too much private information but just enough to make other people curious about you.

Get verified
Being on the internet means also being exposed to fakes and catfishes. It's more difficult to built trust than in real life.
A way to mitigate this is by getting verified . You'll get a badge on your profile that shows you are a real person.

Not only does this make you more trustworthy, you also help us getting rid of fakes and catfishes. Think of it like wearing a face mask: Getting verified may not help you directly being protected of catfishes but will help other members being protected of catfishes, because catfishes are less likely to get verified. So, if all genuine people would get verified, it will only leave the catfishes unverified.

Be genuine, positive, and supportive
As simple as this may sound, but I do believe that just being a nice person can go a long way as long as it is genuine. I have always find I'm attracted to nice people who tried to be supportive of other people and are calm and collected when putting their points across. By the same token I'm repelled by negative people who would drag down other people. By being genuine, collected, and supportive of others, you also show girlfriend/boyfriend material. So, keep that in mind when interacting with other users.

You can show you are a good person by standing up in the forum when you think someone is treated unfairly. Or just simply participate in events that will help make HA a better place. A good opportunity is for example our HA cover art contest.

Show your talents
This also shows you having boyfriend/girlfriend material. If you have a talent, show it! Not only does it make you more attractive to the opposite sex, it also makes you a more interesting person in general.

People displaying their talents, like cooking here or here or drawing here . Though not everyone in the before mentioned threads display their talents in order to attract someone, it could help you find someone who is interested in the same things as you are.

Be active in the forum
When people complain they don't get replies, they usually forget that people are hesitant writing to someone they don't know. If you guys have interacted in the forum before or if they have seen your name on HA before, then they may be more inclined to either reply to your PM or even initiate contact with you.

You can do this by simply replying to other people's topics or create your own that involves other people. I once created this thread and this gave me so much exposure that women started sending friend requests, contacting me on my profile wall and sending me PMs. So, be active in the forum. It's worth it.

I did all of this when I was single and had great success. During the process I found my current girlfriend, one of the smartest and nicest person I ever met. We have been a couple for many years and moved in together. We are planning to get married next year. I wish all of you the same luck and hope you enjoy the process.

Bringing this topic back up because I've noticed a trend of members complaining about Hey-Ai and the lack of responses or interaction they may get.

I've heard members refer Hey-Ai similar to a dating site. Others have mention it feels more like a community. I tend to agree with latter.
There are members here who have gone through the entire line of a relationship from dating to marriage. Believe it or not, couples do form here, mine included.
Others have gotten the chance to make new best friends. I tend to notice the ones who do have the successes mentioned usually follow the ideas thadeusz have pointed out.
Of course, not everyone is going to see the same results. HeyAi may not work for everyone and sometimes its through no fault of their own - distance etc. That's just something you'll have to get used to or work around. Prior to COVID, meet up's do happen, either major meet ups or smaller get togethers.

Communication is another important factor. The barrier of being online is a blessing and a curse. For some, you'll talk in a manner you may not otherwise talk to another in-person...and this can cause problems. These are not mindless robots created out of existence. The people you interact with here are human beings. Talk like one and most importantly, talk to each other like one.
Most people may not realize but we have an online chatroom found here. . It's usually very active and its the best chance to meet some new friends with unique quirks and talents.

You honestly have the ability to talk to people from all over the world on Hey-Ai with all sorts of interesting backgrounds and stories.
What matters most is being genuine, positive, and supportive...traits that break the boundaries of distance and this virtual world.
