nah, i'd use 'she's not my type' or 'she's kinda unattractive' when i talk about a girl with my friends, i won't say anything negative about her appearance in front of her.

NO. Only use the expression "ugly" for the personality of someone.

there is no way to deal with such people.. just walk away. Obviously they're too self-centered, lack any compassion and are too childish to even think as adults.

I'd be walking away laughing and sorry for his/her poor soul infact... why even waste your time and energy wondering how to deal with such people if you know there isn't any room for them to change for the better?
