Would you call a person ugly?

For a long time when I was young I was called ugly for being a sickly, skinny kid. It hurt alot and is probably one of the worst things you can do to another human being. It's emotional harassment and words can cut deep and scar you for a long time. I think anyone who sets out to intentionally hurt another person has insecurity issues.

I'm trying to stop judging others based on appearances. It's hard because every society judges others on looks and ever since you are a little kid you are exposed to the media which only wants 'beautiful' people so you become biased. Lately whenever I start to think something negative about another person such as "oh he's got a weird looking nose" or "Wow she's really ugly and needs makeup" I catch myself and try to think of something else like "i bet hes a nice person" or "she has a pretty smile" I think this world needs more positive thinking because we have enough negativity to go around.

Guy friends insult each other, but they don't really mean it.


Girl friends compliments each other, but they don't really mean it.

I would prefer not to call others anything I wouldn't like to be called myself.

Don't say anything.

I still remember being called slant eye and chink as a teenager. These stuff tends to stick with you for a long time and I still occasionally feel sad about it.

Never ever insult someone based on something he/she cannot change.
