Rules to all Users

These guidelines aim to ensure Hey-AI! remains a nice, relaxing and welcoming place for all non-Asian girls and Asian guys to meet and chat. All Hey-AI! members are requested to adhere to the guidelines below (which are applicable to all parts of Hey-AI!).

General Rules

  1. HEY-AI! is a friendly community for non-Asian girls and Asian guys aged 12 or above.
  2. We endeavour to keep this site clean without pornography (e.g. nudity photos) or contents of sexual, violent, provocative, offensive, racist, terrorist and extremist nature. Any materials and statements of these natures, including but not limited to drugs, weapons of any kind, or anything that can make others feel uncomfortable, insulted or offended including the use of swear words or abusive language are not allowed anywhere on this site (which includes public forums, personal profiles, Cam Chats linked to from the site, wall comments or private messages).
  3. All members should respect wishes of other Hey-AI! members whether to be in contact or not. Other than actions stated in (2), harassment of any members in any forms (including wall comments, private messages, online chat) making others feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated. Members over 22 are asked to refrain from privately contacting members under 18.
  4. Members (including administrators and moderators) are not allowed to upload any kind of copyrighted content to Hey-AI! without a clearly visible reference to the copyright holder. If such reference is missing, the uploading member claims ownership to the copyrighted ownership and releases Hey-AI! from any legal harm that potential copyright infringements may carry against them.
  5. All members should respect other members on their views and backgrounds when expressing their own views or sharing their experience on forums, and refrain from attacking or insulting others personally or making unnecessary provocative statements. Members should not disclose private details of others, especially in the public forums. Everyone is asked to consult his/her own common sense as to what might be inappropriate.
  6. All members are requested not to spam forums or any member profiles. Advertising in any form is not allowed without permission from the administrators. We are not responsible for the content of any linked sites.
  7. Any sort of mass messaging without the permission from an administrator will lead to you getting banned.
  8. Self-introduction should be made on the introduction page in the forum. Separate introduction posts in the forum will be deleted. The forum should be used for sharing experience and discussing topics of public interest, not for self-advertising or self-introduction.
  9. Although Hey-AI! encourages vivid forum discussion, it remains primarily a social network site and not an anonymous forum. Users are advised to upload a clear picture of themselves. Hey-AI! reserves the right to request users to upload a picture of themselves and verify the pictures, and users have to comply in the given time or will be banned from Hey-AI!. This will be done especially when users seem to only take part in controversial discussions but not socializing with other members. If you use a picture of a person who is not you as your profile picture, you will be required to clearly indicate in your profile that this is not actually you. This must be done even if you post real pictures of yourself somewhere else in your profile.
  10. Fake profiles, multiple profiles or profiles created by banned members will be deleted immediately by an administrator or moderator.
  11. All members must respond and comply to requests from the administrators and moderators. If you think you have been unfairly treated by any administrator or moderator, please contact kari who will investigate your case.
  12. If you have any enquiries; please contact an administrator or moderator by private messages. If you would like to contact a banned member, please contact an administrator and we can forward your message. For complaints, please use the complaints and feedback procedure described below and don't post them into the forums directly.
  13. Each user must not do or say anything on our site or in any chatroom that is associated with it that is either against United States or German law, or the laws of the country she or he is from, or against common sense. Hey-AI! reserves the right to ban any member for any reason, or no reason at all, with or without explanation .
  14. Users are not allowed exploit bug, errors, malfunctions or misconfigurations of our website in order to intentionally interrupt our services. This includes, but it not limited to, posting more than 5 consecutive smilies/emoticons on profile walls as these may disturb our site services by rendering the posted profile non-displayable.
  15. All the administrators and moderators are a group of unpaid volunteers dedicated to spend their precious time to maintain this friendly community and we would like to kindly ask for your cooperation. In particular, if you think someone has violated our guidelines or done anything inappropriate, please kindly inform an administrator or moderator by private messages.
  16. By signing up at this site, you are obliged to follow our rules. If you do not agree with any of the rules stated here, leave the site.

Admin Actions

  1. Violation of the above guidelines will attract actions being taken by the administrators and moderators. For the less serious cases, the member will receive an administrator warning to which he/she must promptly respond accordingly. Failure to respond may lead to further administrator actions. For the more serious cases, such as display of nudity pictures, the member will be banned immediately without prior warning.
  2. Inappropriate postings, comments or discussions (as described in the above guidelines and as illustrated in some examples below) will be deleted when breaking our rules profoundly, otherwise such posting, comments or discussions will be edited, stating the break. Minus-points may be ‘awarded’ as described in (3).
  3. A point-based banning system is in operation and any members with 6 minus-points will be banned without further discussion. A number of minus points (usually 1 or 2), depending on the seriousness of cases, will be ‘awarded’ for violation of the above guidelines. In addition to or in lieu of minus points, you may be asked to perform a community service task that will be of benefit to Hey-Ai.
Please note that this system only applies to people who have been members for 2 months or longer. New members will fall under the ‘3-strikes model’. Instead of minus points you will receive a total of 2 warnings, breaking the rules a third time will lead to a ban.
The administrators and moderators will keep a record of your minus points in the administrator forum and inform you of any changes. So please watch out or you will be gone faster than you think!
You are not allowed to edit your posting, comment or discussion after it was edited by an administrator or moderator. Violators will be warned on their first edit; further edits ‘award’ points:
    • 1st edit - warning
    • 2nd and 3rd edit - 0.5 minus points each
    • 4th and further edits - 1 minus point each
edits are not counted per post, but over your profile (i.e. editing one post twice and another post once equals three edits)
  4. Most administrator actions are agreed on by at least three administrators and/or moderators to ensure fairness. All administrator actions are noted in the administrator forum for the purpose of maintaining records. The administrators and moderators regularly update the above guidelines according to the needs of the site and reserve the right to take appropriate actions according to the situation.

Cam Chat (linked to Hey-AI! via Discord or other external services)

    1. All the above defined rules are applicable to our external cam chat. By entering our cam chat site, you agree that you will comply to the rules on this page. Rules specific for the cam chat can be found on this page.
    2. Everyone joining the cam chat must respond and comply to requests from the cam chat administrators (JumpinChat) and moderators (as listed on this page) and must not block the administrators or moderators.
    3. Because the chat is not hosted within our domain or server infrastructure, in certain cases a person who is not a Hey-AI! administrator or moderator might get administrator or moderator rights in the chat room. Please understand that in case you get them, you are not allowed to use them and ban anyone from the chat! Doing this will lead to a two weeks or longer chat ban. (In certain cases (no administrator or moderator available, urgent need to ban some spammer/racist etc.) using administrator or moderator powers might not be punished if you acted in complete agreement with our rules, and if you send a report with a chat log and the reasons for banning according to our guidelines to one of the administrators or moderators, but Hey-AI! will carefully examine each case, so be really careful about this please.)

Illustrative examples

The following is a list of examples of racist, offensive, insulting and provocative statements which are therefore in violation of our guidelines (some past examples of guideline violations)

    • Racist: ‘Asian guys are nerds’
    • Offensive: ‘I mean just look at him now taking that recreational drug shit up his fucked up nose’; ‘thats just pathetic and laughable’
    • Personal Insulting: ‘This guy is truly a failure and pathetic loser in live’; ‘you have no life’
    • Swearing: ‘…shit up his fucked up nose’; ‘I don't just make up some random bullshit’
    • Provocative: ‘HAHA Well Fuck me!!’ (also applies to ‘F**k’ or other obscuring techniques); ‘Seriously don't even waste your time posting here’

Handling of Complaints and Feedback Procedure

This Complaints and Feedback Procedure is to ensure our social network continues to provide a safe, friendly and fair environment for all our members.

We understand that our members' voices are very important to us and we would like to help resolve any disputes or problems in an effective and timely fashion, without disturbing the peace of other members who also use our social network.

We would like to try out this concept and see if it works, it is still undergoing internal discussion though and might be subject to change.

While posting a complaint on the Hey-AI! forums may be tempting, we urge all members to follow the ‘Handling of Complaints and Feedback Procedure’. This is done to avoid having flame wars on our website and allow new members the opportunity to develop a good impression on our social network.

To make this system easier to understand, we would like to relate this to the court system.

  1. Local Court
  2. High Court
  3. Supreme Court

Local Court

The local court represents the opinion of at least two administrators and/or moderators on issuing a warning or a ban. One of them will contact you and discuss their concerns on any potential wrong doings.

If you believe you have been treated unfairly, you may appeal to the High Court to voice your complaint or concerns.

High Court

The high court represents the entire Hey-AI! administrators and moderators. You can submit in writing (or discuss this via TinyChat) to another administrator or moderator your side of the story and why you believe that you have been treated in an unfair manner.

The entire administrator and moderator team will investigate and discuss your case. You will also be provided updates of the process so that you are aware of what is happening with your complaint.

Once a verdict has been reached, you will be contacted and the decision made will be outlined along its basis.

If you still believe you have been treated unfairly, you may appeal to the Supreme Court to voice your complaint or concerns.

Supreme Court

The Supreme court represents both the entire Hey-AI! staff and a jury of peers. Once you have appealed to the Supreme Court, you will be allow to submit your ‘case’ in a form of a forum thread.

The jury will consists of your peers (if you are a regular user, the peers are regulars; if you are a donator, the peers are donators; if you are a moderator, the peers will be moderators; etc.). The forum thread will be open for votes and discussions for at least two weeks. Within beforehand stated time, the peers can submit their opinions or vote whether the Hey-AI! staff have acted fairly and responsibly.

All votes and feedback submitted within the stated time will be reviewed and related to the previous verdict. A final verdict will be made and no further challenges can be made afterwards.
