If you live in Quebec, yes to some extent. I'm sure most people speak English there, especially in cities like Montreal. Outside Quebec, you don't need to know french at all.

Spanish! I had to take ESL in school as a second language, that’s why I didn’t learn Spanish despite going to school in the US.

So many -- I want to learn Arabic, Hungarian, Finnish, Amharic, and just the writing system of Cuneiform. I would also love to come in contact with some isolated civilisations in the modern world and learn their language as well. Even older versions of modern languages are incredibly fascinating. But for practical reasons, I'm sticking with learning Spanish, German, and Dutch for now
