It's in evereyone of us.
You can tell stories about how you'll never think about it and everything is about confidence, but to be true, if you met someone who isn't your 'ideal type' you'll think about it.
Sooner or later you will.
But it's up to you to choose if you would take him/her or let him/her go because of something like this.

It's not important to me at all, since I'm only 5'3". So, most guys are taller than me.

to be honest, i like guys, who are taller than me or the same height. (i think it's some kind of wanna-be-protected complex xD) fortunatly i'm short, so that most guys are taller than me anyway.
i would say height is just kind of important for the first attraction. but being not taller than me would never be a reason for dumping a nice boy. ^^

I can say the same thing many girls have said; I´m short so it´s not hard to find a guy who´s taller than me. If I was a tall woman it would be hard to be picky about height. I like girls too, but what would I say about a girl´s height. I guess it matters less.

Well because I am six feet tall I think I fancy guys around my height... *cough*
I don't tend to want guys who are 5''6 and below...Unless their personality makes up for lack of inches.
