For me, it normally doesn't matter either or but I try to always do something simple where we can both talk and have fun like grabbing coffee and walking around the city.

My ideal first date is meeting up and having a coffee and talking and also getting to know each other..I am up for almost anything really..Depending on the weather and what the time situation is like..If we both have some hours time?Than theres more options..If the weather is nice?Meeting up for a picknick, going go kart racing, going to someplace serene, parties and loud crowds are not really my thing, you cant really get to know someone if you have to scream over loud music..Museums,FleaMarkets,doing Karoke, playing wii mario kart racing with each other..The options are kind of endless.Depends on the mood as well.I can be very outgoing and bubbly but also reserved..I have a small child I have to plan around..But if I have time or a person wants time,i make time for them..Also dates don't have to be expensive, though i dont mind going to a nice restraunt and sharing a meal or buying my own, getting ice cream somewhere or food in general is usually a good deal, but not required..I am not one to really get dressed up, I just try to look nice, but be comfortable at the same time..Also Its nice if the guy im dating is not trying to get into my pants..I like it when a guy shows interest but has self control..I like honesty and openess to,not always talking about the past, but things like hobbies, and goals and what inspires a person and just normalish type things..Keep it light and friendly... An ideal first date would be compromising and not just one side always getting their way..But finding a middle ground..Trying to keep things balanced..Duckduckted wrote: So I'm genuinely curious but what is everyone goto first date. Is there a specific setting, mood or activity that you always aim for. And, does it change when you are dating a Non-Asian girl / Asian guy compared to Asian Girl / Non-Asian Male?

He'd show up at my door fresh off of an airplane, I'd ask him if he was hungry, and if he said no, I'd ask him if he wanted to go climb Stone Mountain - a small but pretty park with a huge rock on it that people climb. he'd say yes. I'd ask if my dog could come. he'd say yes, of course...so, we'd go and barely speak until we reached the top. I am a daydreamer who think he and I are a good match, and good matches may be able to understand each other without many words. He's the only one I'd take there, though.
Each man is different and each season and time and location is unique, so I'd judge the date based on those things. But, if I know a guy already and am not afraid of his raping me, manipulating the circumstance, or leaving me, then I'd choose a park. I used to do the nice dinner and clubbing thing, but no longer want that type of guy or lifestyle. Any guy who has a desire to be seen with me isn't into the real me and I've had enough of that type. Age/experience plays a role here, so judge each case independently, men.

If it's the first date the main aim is to get to know each other and see if you match each other. Don't try to be awkward and just enjoy the moments together. You can come in prepared with some stories about your life and then you can also asked her out. But just don't overthink. Try to get it as smooth as possible.
