I'm not sure if these titles quite apply to your interests, but I would suggest the following:

Immanuel Kant's "Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals,"

"An Introduction to Chinese Philosophy: From Ancient Philosophy to Chinese Buddhism" by JeeLoo Liu,

"Understanding Japanese Society," by Joy Hendry,

and "The Japanese Mind," edited by Roger J. Davies and Osamu Ikeno.

idk, i just thought these texts posed some intriguing questions pertaining to one's perception of reality, schema, etc.

I only own self-help books at the moment, and this one called "Culture" ...but that isn't a help...XD..I will get the authors later.

I am interested in Paul Ekman's books on deception and micro-expressions though (after watching Lie to me, I am gladly introduced to this scientist)

I found that I really need to read a distilled summary of a philosopher before I can dive into original text. I am pretty interested in more modern philosophers/political scientists, such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Montesquieu, and Marx. The political and moral theory of the first three shaped the United States constitution, while the philosophy of Marx gave rise to the Soviet Union, PRC, as well as many other states. It is really cool to study the pure essence of their philosophies and see how they play out in the course of history when they are implemented

Seriously, read it if you haven't already. I have never expected a life changing experience simply by reading a book. But it happened. It is a truly awesome book, it takes only about 3 hours to read through and it helps you a lot about understanding yourself and your dreams.

This book is amazing as well as The 4 Agreements by Ruiz definitely work it with the companion book. Life changing.

:)
