Is Gangnam Style music video really that funny?

I saw a headline on yahoo about the viral video of Gangnam Style by PSY getting a huge payday -

Most of the views seem to be from the U.S. I don't have a problem with the song, it's very catchy and I understand why it's popular, there's nothing wrong with it's success. However, the video on the other hand once again is all about negative stereotypes, with goofy asian dudes, tired stereotype of sexism, and the rapper himself is portly, unattractive and makes himself unflattering -

It would've been flattering if the rapper was muscular, tall, and attractive. Sad this is another tired stereotype of asian men once again getting popular in the U.S. like William Hung. There was quote from the dailytitan - "PSY may see through his own eyes, but the world sees Korea through PSY."

Stereotypes are generally pretty lame, I agree. However, individuality is a pretty amazing thing.. When they expect you to be the typical Asian dude and you end up surprising them by being more than that.

Psy represents something more than just an artist. He is representing whole country of Korea and the Koreans are very proud of him for making it world wide. Asians like to take pride in whatever they can, and it just happens to be Psy.

I'm not against his success, that's great he's become popular with his passion for rap, on the other hand, there are very few recognizable asians in the U.S. and most are negative. Also, I remember my friend was at a bar and he slapped a girl in the ass and he wasn't even drunk, and he got kicked out and also wasn't allowed in that bar. If the hot asian women in the video were old wrinkly women and if psy was replaced by a very muscular, attractive tall asian guy, I would've been laughing as hell. But I understand if you're passionate about something, there will always be some critizism, this one just happens to be the usual.

I think itt not funny, its something never seen before apart is the first time a video of YG is number 1 worldwide + psy is a great artist..

i dont think its funny at all,and i start to hate this music,i guess its because i heard it almost everywhere now,i dont feel anything special at all about this music

jeeez... how about enjoying it for once and accepting things as it. Why pick on Psy? You sound like another American who likes to blow things out of proportion just because you can't deal with the fact a Korean is enjoying some success. I mean, there are literally dozens of crappy rap, country, pop artists.. you name it. Some even twice the size of Psy and talk nothing more than guns, smacking asses, titties, spending time in jail etc. Seriously, you can't be more superficial trying to judge Psy because he isn't tall, muscular, attractive. I don't even consider him a rap artist, so why try to compare him to your stereotypical black rap artist.

It might do your soul some good trying to find your own individuality, than trying to be like your black rap idol cuz lets face it, you just don't have the genes like them You are asian, be proud of who you are and don't try to put on a fake show by trying to be someone else

it was good the first 20 times i had it on repeat. everyone has a bias in the YG family, and mine definitely isn't psy. sigh.

Dude, I'm not a white guy lol. I'm not jealous of his success, I even said I like his music, but he uses tired stereotypes for his success. I know there are blacks who do it, like I said there are very few recognizable asians in the U.S.
