Game of Thrones is the biggest TV show right now. Not watching it doesn't make you cool or anything. You're totally missing out if you're not watching it. You're literally missing out on a cultural phenomenon. When I first started I was kind of iffy because I wasn't into dragons and all that medieval stuff but it's such an amazing show that I got hooked in no time. For the people saying that it's boring, you should really try again but this time pay close attention to everything. Listen to the dialogue and try to understand everything. This show taught me how to enjoy shows just through it's dialogue especially the earlier seasons. There is a reason why everybody is watching it and I really hate when people think they're cool or when they're one of the few that don't. Trust me I know a lot of people who thought that way but now they're all big fans. So please do check it out. I would love to even answer your questions about it.

its a good show I must agree, but one can live without it lol. Although if any of the people not watching it are like me curiosity will get them down this addictive path we have ventured on too. season 8 is epic, its weird how it only gets better as the season continue. I always wonder after each season ended how they would outdo each season.

What happened to Tyrion's smartass dialog and badass fighting skills of Season2 defending King's Landing? He got sidelined in the crypt and didn't even drink!

And starting mid-Season6, where did the subverting expectations of the tropes of fantasy go?

Yeah s5 to mid s6 is the last of the "good seasons". No more GRRM writing to reference and copy that's why it's not as good anymore.

All that money and no fan fiction writers to hire. #sad

In theory it could've been even more exciting, since nobody knows how it'll turn out. But it's all cliches and tropes now.

Well, actually there are "fan-fiction" writers working on the TV series: showrunners Benioff & Weiss have read "A Song Of Ice And Fire" books published so far. They are early fans of the story. And George Martin told them how he planned to end the story, in case he might pass away before finishing the novels.
Of course some minor story-arcs have deviated from books to series (Lady Stoneheart, Beric, Ramsay's marriage, the Dorne plot...) Yet, they plan to deliver the series ending as close to George's will at least in the main plot.
Then, for sure George Martin should hurry and finish writing the 2 books left.
