I think it's because Hollywood horror movies became so predictable ... a group of people + 1 killer + scary scene and at the end always the same old boring story. 1 person "survives" and tries to kill the killer but it doesn't always go that way. Asian horror movies offer more variation in storylines than the Hollywood horrors. I have bought a lot of Asian horrors such as Death Bell (Korean horror), Memento Mori, The Red , ...I think it's much more fun to watch horror movies with friends than alone ^^

Yess! I haven't gotten to see alot of Asian horror films, but that is quite true. American horror films has gotten quite predictable over the past decade and tends to rely on cheap scare tactics, instead of a provoking, original plot. Maybe I should start watching Asian horror films from now on :).

I saw that movie lol. I watched it with my ex and she hated that movie. It was really gorey and disgusting and had more nudity than i expected in an Asian movie. But I cheered when that serial killer finally died at the end. :)

I have to agree in ALL points- though i would say "I saw the devil" it more a Thriller than a horror movie- still it's one of my favs,

btw. I really like Chakushin ari (one missed call) 1-3- saw the american remake and it sucked like hell.....js

Lol its pretty obvious the killer aka the bad guy would die in the end. they wouldn't leave us hanging unless it's Saw with its infinite sequels....

If its a horror film, they usually do, man. It's a way to please the audience. Anyway, my bad for ruining the ending for you. Try to erase your mind of what i typed earlier lol.

I'm not much of a horror movie buff, but for some reason I get drwn into them. Especially, shark movies. I hate them but for some odd reason, I end up watching them. Eh, at home of course...

Asian horror movies MESS WITH YOUR HEAD. Some blood is used but it's not overly graphic, as well as any guts used.

Agree. American horror movies sucks. And the american remakes of asian movies suck too. (Except for the Ring)

I love horror movies >.< I just can stop watching them.

I loved the Ring, Ju-on, Dark Water, It, Ringu, The Guinea Pig series, Psycho, REC (spanish version of course), Hostal, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre... well almost every horror movie I've seen and had scared me :silly:

Thats true, asian horror movies don't really use the same pop-up scare tactics as most american horror films do. They tend to rely more on creepy atmosphere than anything else. But you guys love being scared outta your wits? I enjoyed The Ring more than Ringu, to be honest. It's also romantic if you have a partner next to you. :)

I saw Ringu before I saw The Ring, so I did a lot of comparisons.

While I think The Ring was well done, I just have ONE problem.
