Good ways to meet new people?

I wouldn't be so quick to take advice from filou. The problem is that pretty girls see the world through rose-coloured lenses. They don't understand how much harder and different life is for someone average looking and male.

Thus it's not as easy as just taking opportunities. They won't come knocking on your door with bad intentions. You really have to go and seize them. I'd advise trying out new activities. Take up surfing (it seems to be the thing to do in AU). Maybe start a football league with some neighbours. Other good things to do are language classes, expedition groups, and dance classes.

Of course round things out with buddies from work and friends overseas or from online. I've seen quite a few cool guys on here that I wouldn't mind meeting up with (strangely many more guys than gals).

What I wouldn't do is try to do something that doesn't suit your personality. For me I know I'm not a big fan of the bar scene and I also don't go clubbing. Some people love and swear by those things. Chances are you're not going to be good friends with that person.

Thanks for the meaningful reply. I'm considering volunteer work at my local charity group (salvation army). Maybe this will make me a more positive person in general.

one must be sincere and friendly. You can start with a greeting, preguntanle you like to do, finally, to know! not have to be very shy!!!!

LOL - my gosh - i read this and literally laughed my butt off ahaha - I have alot of trouble meeting new freinds and stuff as well - i always smile alot which is a good start...

Maybe put yourself out there sign up to a dance class partcipate in community events and stuff like that ie. NANOWRIMO... i met alot of people through that

Maybe you should join some clubs at your school/college...That's a great way to meet people

crash at a homeless shelter
tons of people wanting to be your friend and perhaps share a shot of whisky
