i'm not afraid of losing cable, but i'm afraid of future life decisions (that i normally run from), so the "the man upstairs" was talking to me through that movie/story because that's the only language i understand (stories).
now, two weeks later, i feel fine and then i get scared just wondering what (unknown) i'm going to get scared about. then i'm reminded i can stop the fear, otherwise i wouldn't have been told to do something i can't do.
here's the scene:
I never had cable and convinced my parents to cancel cable too. It's such a ripoff, the amount they charge for you to spend 1/3 of the time watching commercials! You would think cable would be free because they're gaining viewership for their commercials. The good channels like Discovery, Animal Planet, and History channel all turned to shit in the past 10 years and are now full of reality-TV like shows instead of educational programs. Smart TV streaming services will be the death of cable TV, and it will be good riddance.

they show almost no documentaries and it's never enough information. i even watched arirang for a year to learn about korea and it left me wondering if they had any vacation spots at all that were right for me. youtube videos of people just walking down local streets to visit shops showed me more than that channel did. i love tv but it's not enough, and yep, it's hardly educational, only rudimentary bits of information. i even already miss listening to Nancy Grace cop an attitude for no reason, so i'm going to have to find more than just clips of her show online.
the olympics are coming up but regular cable mostly only shows american teams competing and leave out the entire freakin' two weeks of events because we must not care what other teams/countries are doing. i guess they have a sports package for that, i don't know, but those things are too costly.
make this your mantra today: "look inside my soul and you can find gold and maybe get rich." // "in the cold Kentucky rayyayayaayn." - Elvis

Dito. Haven't had cable in over 3 years now. No point nowadays since I have Netflix and can stream anything else they don't have on there
