Oh that's unfortunate, for some reason I thought it would actually be easier to be vegan in US. You could always check out Iherb pretty sure they ship worldwide and you can usually find promo codes online

I find it easier in Buddhist countries who observe vegetarianism or veganism. I had monk food, or food for/or that monks can eat. Way better than anything in the West.

I never really had any strong reasons not to eat meat except for one.

My family eats it. My friends eat it. I have eaten it. It's been normalized in a social conditioning way that there's nothing really inherently wrong for most people to eat meat.

But lately there's been more of a social movement to not eat meat and be vegan. Because people are disgusted at how modern industrial farms are treating animals.

I have indeed heard of people slamming baby pigs against the concrete floor. Feeding live baby chicks into a meat grinder. Boxing in baby cows in tight small cages just to help weaken and soften it's meat. And the list goes on.

Even if you don't really care for animals. It's not really easy to claim there is nothing wrong. Yet I still eat meat because I have been doing it for a long time and it's hard to stop cold turkey.

I dislike how animals are treated yet not so much to change my diet. But there was an american girl who came to my country. To be honest, I was pretty infuactuated with her. She spoke English in a woody North california way. She was slim, wide set eyes and had a very calm soft personality. She was also vegan and told me about it and why it was important.

I think if I was with her. I would be willing to go vegan for her. But clearly that's not the case. She went back to America and I try to soothe my sorrows by binging on chicken and pork dumplings.

Argentina is the number 1 meat exporter in the world, part of our economy is based on the export of meat to the world, so there are not such feelings for animals as you see.
Our culture is carnivorous as my family is, I have consumed meat almost all my life because my family forced me to eat meat while I was living with them, since I live alone I changed my diet because I never liked meat that much.

The truth is that being a vegetarian or vegan, in our country, is very expensive, for example 1 kilo of meat would cost 2 or 3 dollars and 4 people can eat and feel full, on the other hand if same family is vegetarian or vegan they would spend up to 10 dollars on products to feed a whole family everyday, so it is a matter of economic reality as well.

However, we all know that being vegetarian or vegan is the healthiest in every way, but the economic impact is significant.
Now, if you are an independent person you're in a position to afford a healthier life style.

Anyone eaten Beyond Meats or Impossible Burger?

I've had a Carl's Jr Beyond Burger. It was ok. But I'm not a fan of Carl's Jr. regular burgers anyways.

Ok the Impossible Burger is straight trash but that Beyond Burger!? *chef's kiss*

It tastes just like a real burger. It's my guilty pleasure!

*edit to add that I tried the Beyond Burger from TGI Fridays*

yeah i do. being aware of animal cruelty and conscious about how the meat that im eating has ended up on my plate, i still eat it for my own enjoyment. the least i could do is to eat every inch of an animal if presented to me. from time to time, i do look for cruelty free products. but cost being a major factor, it is not something i religiously look out for. i dont know if its my conscience playing up or just doing things in moderation as i age, but i no longer feel that need to eat meat for every meal. i like the idea of lab made meat and will probably switch when it becomes economically and widely available to purchase. when that time comes, there will probably still be a market for live meat and ill probably continuing purchasing it on the rare occasion. just cause im nostalgic like that. as for humanely killing an animal, some may see this as not humane. but when i fish to keep, i try to quickly put it out of its misery by piercing the brain.
