The Corruption of Capitalism-Richard Duncan
Great synopsis of new paradigm of govt deficit driven economics. Also gives insight into banking/finance deregulation, + eurodollar market & subsequent fed reserve loss of control over us monetary policy. Basically dereg created mass credit bubble, foreign debt availability, eurodollars all marginalized fractional reserve banking. Duncan didn't say it but GW flushed it all & now the whole world absent mass reforms will see mass depression minus constant QE. My opinion.is.that reforms will span a generation min. Author has great solutions.

Currency Wars-James Rickards
Insight into dollar debasement, and curency manipulations. Survey light of gold>bretton woods>post bretton woods eras.

Fools Gold-Gillian Tett
Look inside jpmorgan from origination of derivatives through subprime implosion/systemic jeopardy. Financial engineering math may be complex, but derivatives are not. Tett, explains them well. Good fly on the wall view of the whole bubble.

I wrote a review of the last two books I've read and tried to post it here, but it didn't get uploaded for some technical reason. Not gonna restyle it so here's the short version:

STALINGRAD by Antony Beevor. Great. An in-depth and comprehensive account of a battle I didn't know much about.

NEVER LET ME GO by Kazuo Ishiguro. Disappointing. Overrated, boring, predictable. Great writing though.

I'm not too much of a reader myself but I love to write. Recently, I've been working on a science fiction story. If anybody's interested in a little light reading, I wouldn't mind getting some feedback ^^

To answer the topic, I'd have to say my favorite books of all time are Animal Farm and Of Mice and Men both by George Orwell.
