I Am Shallow

I disagree we are all beautiful to somebody. If that was the case there would be no supermodels, no actors, no ugly ducklings or third wheels in a conversation. Our inner "depth" and inner attractiveness is developed through hard work, and the willingness to create our meaning meaning, our own opportunities, our own experiences in life. That may seem like a stereotypical Asian thing to say but it's true no matter where you go. There are no successful actors who will say "i just wait for a script to be handed to me... I only read the lines, nothing more." No athletes who will tell you "I don't have to train, i'm naturally fit. I just play this game and win." In the end you will reap what you sow. A relationship based purely on physical appearances will decay like the flesh, while one which has been developed, strengthened, worked on, will last as well as a shield with metal folded many times.
