A Warning to ALL Women in the OH/KY/INDY Area

It's been a while since I was on here, and maybe this isn't the right place and if it isn't, I hope admin can move this particular post to the proper place so people will still see it. On Monday July 7, 2014 I met up with a man I had been speaking with for approximately 2 weeks. I met him on POF.com, and I was also told he had a profile here too by a friend (I do not know the validity of this, as she said she hadn't seen his profile for quite some time) so I thought to warn here.


I was sexually assaulted by a man who claimed to be between the ages of 25-30, lived in the West Chester, OH area and goes by the name "Ben." He IS Asian, but he told me he was Chinese/Korean (a mix of both, I assume) and he said he had a PhD in something medical. He was from China, spoke with a slight lisp (not sure if this is in general, or only in English, but he does have a lisp) and he tells girls that his mother is visiting from China for 2 months.


I DO NOT KNOW HIS REAL NAME.
He used photos of Godfrey Gao in his profile, but I did not know who this was and I've met people online before. I never really thought to check. Perhaps you think this makes me stupid or that I deserved it, and if you think that it's okay. I was pretty dumb and naive.

I met him at a coffee shop around 7:30 pm. Around 8:30, he asked me if I'd like to go to the park. If any of you know the Mason, Ohio area... you're pretty limited in terms of date things to do. I love going to parks, so I agreed. He said he wanted to take a walk, so we went to the park. He parked in a secluded area -- I had never even heard of this park, so I didn't know if it was a well-used area or not until later) and proceeded to try to force me into things. Luckily I was able to get away before anything major other than groping happened, but I did tell him to stop. He bit me, left nail marks, and hit the back of my head on his window during my struggle.



Ladies, please be aware of this guy. If he uses any sort of "bendqr" or similar in his name and uses a picture that looks a little too handsome to be just some average guy, double check. I should have. I know how dumb I was because of this. I reported it immediately, but without a real photo, a license plate, or his real freaking name there is VERY LITTLE the authorities can do. So, I'm passing this along.

I'm terribly sorry that this happened to you, it's a horrible crime that no woman should have to endure.

However, shouldn't the alarm bells have been ringing when he didn't look anything like his profile pic? Why did you proceed with the date if the picture that he used clearly wasn't him?

I'm not trying to be disrespectful here, but a bit of common sense is required, especially when meeting someone for the first time.

And if you think something is a bit fishy about the profile pic, do a reverse Google search.

Does your stalker looks anything like Godfrey Gao ?

But one question, did he look like Godfrey Gao?

I thought I had touched on that, but I suppose I didn't. He looked similar, though not exactly the same. I actually DID use common sense, I met him in a public place and I reported what happened to the police, I got out before something worse could have happened. I had no reason to think that there was anything "fishy" about the profile photo that he used, since I had no idea who Godfrey Gao actually was. People can look differently in their photos online than they do in person. My cousin is like the filter wiz on Instagram and she makes herself look 100% different. He was nice to me, very kind and while we spoke (which was for hours a day for at least 2 full weeks) he was always respectful. I had no reason not to trust him when I met him, even if he did look a little different. Obviously I know better now, I'm not really looking for ridicule I'm just trying to spread the word since there isn't a lot authorities can do since he gave me fake information (which again, it's hard to know. How many people in the world are called Ben? And I couldn't pronounce the last name he gave me or spell it. I did the best I could but nobody is perfect.) I just got unlucky. I didn't expect it to happen.




And he did have similarities to Godfrey Gao. I thought the photo was just a bit old? He had shorter hair, a bit more weight than the photo (though you can't really tell except for in the face) and no facial hair. But the eyes, smile, hairline, ears, and jawline were basically the same. The nose was too... and as weird as it sounds I remember people because of their noses, since most are fairly unique unless they've had surgery.


Like I said, I'm only trying to warn others. I know now I was stupid. That doesn't mean I deserve it, I just made a mistake and I'm learning from it. I just want others to see this and be aware of it.

That's why I don't date fast and easily. -.-

Okay, listen. Ask the authorities to contact POF for the IP logs associated with his account. Assuming he wasn't using Tor or a VPN, the IP will reveal where he probably lives and his actual identity.
