Every training program should be tailored to the goal in mind. The poster asked about calisthenics for aesthetic - hypertrophy. Weights are simpler and make faster progress for hypertrophy, and is a good idea to be included in every program. Football and basketball players, MMA fighters and elite military units like Rangers all have weight training in their routine along with function specific trainings.
For the purposes of aesthetics, I would also say that a body with balanced musculature looks better. Calisthenics allows one to target the small muscles that a novice weight-lifter would be unlikely to train.
Which small muscles? Please name a few.
