with the world more divided than ever, all the mass shootings in states and political boycott based on political alliances, i do wonder what are the general political demographics of the folks on here.

do people who cater to interracial relationships tend to be more liberals or conservative republicans. or do one's political view have no effect on the potential relationship component when seeking out someone.

and if you found out the person you are interested in is from a party you are not in favor with, would you lose interest?

please post, i would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.

political affiliation stems from core beliefs. i imagine it would play some part in how a relationship is developed.

ive always seen myself as center right. i like to say my threshold for accepting others is quite wide, where only the very end of the spectrums i would shy away from. only because they truly are lost causes lol.

Well, I'm currently interested in someone whos a complete 180 from me in political stance.
That being said, I don't believe political views should matter in a relationship. If you're able to have a meaningful conversation with your SO about politics, then it shouldn't matter.

While politics do stem from core beliefs a bit, someone who has the same beliefs as I could identify differences in political ideology. I understand political views as more of a way to run a country/state/city rather than a deciding factor into dating.

I bleed red white and blue. I am conservative but I have an open mind. I'm open to what others want to be however I do not like it when someone tells me how I should think or behave. This country has given Asian families the opportunity to prosper. For that I am grateful for. I am almost certain I cannot say the same about my home country.

There's more political ideologies than just conservative or liberal, even in the United States. I tend to lean more liberal in social issues but have more libertarian tendencies for economics and government. And in terms of relationships, I haven't encounter someone where political beliefs interfere with our relationship to the point that it breaks it. Sometimes it's nice to have someone that has a different view from you, we can argue and learn more about other perspectives. It's one thing why I like interracial dating because I can tap into the differences between us. That difference can build tension and tension can create chemistry which can spark into something more.

i left out the moderates since they are more neutral, and therefore doesn't have as a hardcore value as the most left or right. for instance two former classmates of mine deleted me off fb when i uploaded a picture of trump while visiting my school for the 2016 debate.

i appreciate all your responses, this is quite insightful.

I consider myself a classic liberal, and voted democrat when I first turned 18. I love having open dialogue and hearing differing opinions even if it's "anti" who ever I supported. I started questioning the president I elected and got attacked for it. During the 2016 election I was pro Hilary and Anti-Trump and I kept hearing all these negative things about this guy and one day I decided to look in how "bad" Trump was...and it was all just exaggerated, stretched out misleading information. I started noticing how bias the media was for Hilary vs Trump and hated that.

I notice how subjective the media was, projecting there opinion and thought as factual news and how much they are more like propaganda machines and I slowly fell down the rabbit hole.

I started having more conservative views and started getting attacked and losing my liberal friends and family. I've dated a lot of liberal women, they all slowly started becoming more conservative the more we talked, except for one who called me a racist bigot even tho the democrats are the party of the KKK, Jim crow and slavery, and no they never switched sides, but she didn't care about history or facts for that matter.

As for the mass shootings, they are defined by 4 or more deaths in a single incident. For example a gang related shooting that left 4 dead is considered a mass shooting, or a drive by that leave 4 dead also considered a mass shooting. The vast majority is "mass shootings" are drug/gang related but the news will only politicize and weaponized certain ones for their political gains and it makes me sick.

That being said I am all red, white and blue now plus pro constitution. My family fled communism for a free market and we all succeeded I wouldn't want the US to be any other way.

Moderates still represent a significant group of Americans. Despite the media framing the battle between Democrats and Republicans in the elections as liberalism vs conservatism, the average American tunes out and don't care too much about ideologies. These moderates is one of the reason why Trump won the 2016 elections. Most average Americans felt compelled to vote for Trump because they see him as different from the standard Republican politician and don't conform the Republican ideology. They want something different than the old liberal or conservative ideology.

Oh they switched sides alright, it might not be clear cut and all but a significant portion of southern Democrats started voted Republican after the Civil Rights Act was passed in the 60s. You can see the rebellion happening during that time in the South at elections where states were making the tough decision to either stick with party loyalty or do something different. It was gradual progress that developed over time. By the 80s, most of these southern Democrats switched sides.
