Nice post and contributions. I've always dumbed it down and made it analogous to playing rock/paper/scissors (political affiliation) depending on the current "game meta."

I'm really fascinated getting perspective from someone in China given the country's amazing grow and innovation over the last few decades, cautious of the media bias might have as I live in the west (down under more specifically) so thank you chan2417 (everyone reminder to keep it respectful ;) ).

It seems the US is going somewhat backwards given that life expectancy has dropped over the years. Like that's a pretty important metric to go by if you were to consider how a country is fairing.

I consider myself a innate liberal.
Political alliances come transcentally from perceptions and core beliefs. Currently in these times where there is fierce competition, superficial relations, insecurity in any national or community environment, distrust in any socio-cultural interaction, inequality and equity, where opposing factions and groups are present than ever, both liberal and conservative defend the socioeconomic system Capitalist and together oppose other ideologies such as socialism and communism.
People who focus on being in interracial relationships usually tend to be more liberal. It depends on people, their broad mentality, ideology, flexibility, values, perspectives, their internal growth to be individually open in being in an interracial relationship.
Ideology or political vision is not a vital factor in any relationship in development or in the search for someone.
If I discovered that over time that the person I admire or have an interest is from an opposite or strongly traditional party with whom I could not agree, because I should lose interest. If we both have chemistry, tension, differences and similarities, I don't see any inconvenience. If you learn to be open, flexible to adapt to the different events that life offers you will always you be invincible.
Having someone with a different thought is gratifying, where you can express, discuss, share different ideas, points of view and learn other perspectives, techniques, suggestions. Nothing stays the same. Things and people change constantly. Ideas die over time, new ones are created and some are innovated and merged.

I'm here temporarily, but I'm not from here. While higher your frequency, higher will be your conscience.

chan2417 wrote: But i think ultimately a society should have rules. Not so strict that people can't be themselves within reason. Gays, trans, minorities deseve to feel part of moderm society as they are not inherently doing anything immoral in my book. Religion should not have any real power by the gov. Individualism.is not the worst thing. So i am against republicans on that. But not so loose that people can feel like they can do whatever. Disrespect police, be a public nuisance, interfere with meritocracy, and have weakened collectivist values.:( actually i don't really know what separates republicans from liberals. Is it religion? Gay issues? Collectivist or individualism??

As long as she isn't a prejudiced person because of religion. And values her parents and larger society. That's ok for me.

The religious difference explains many divisions in US politics. Among liberals and conservatives is that liberals seek changes that favor individual freedom so that a society can progress. Conservatives prefer to maintain norms and traditions to defend collective values.
Both parties share essential aspects of the American way of life and culture, a common minimum denominator that includes values related to faith in the capacity of individual / collective initiative, theoretical equal opportunities, democracy, free market and capitalist economy more or less moderate, large doses of patriotism, formal separation between religion and the State (although with a very important role of religion in the daily life of public life), radical defense of freedom of expression and individual rights, etc.
