How important is HEIGHT?

At 5ft 9in I'm pretty tall. I've been taller then most of my family since I was 8 and frankly I'm fine with my height and being with guys how are shorter or taller then me.
I've dated guys with a significant height difference to me. Once a friend told me that one of his friends thought I was only with my shorter, Asian ex because he had money. There were several things wrong with this assessment first, we are broke college students no one has any money, second I know I'll be making bank when I graduate (hopefully) so I never look for guys who have money, third they should be thinking 'lucky what the hell is he doing right.' It is pretty true that girls kinda look for taller guys. Its all genetics, looking for desirable features and being tall is one of them. Because of this I find sometimes taller guys can get away with things that short guys can't.

im only 176cm but id like to be higher beacuase its not common for asians to be higher than 1,82...

i find the concept of being concerned about one's height sort of pointless. unless you resort to extreme methods like knee surgeries or whatever to get a couple inches taller (in which case you have to go through months of rehab just to be able to walk properly), it's sort of set in stone.
if someone doesn't accept you for something you can't possibly change, then what's the point in trying to be with them (for "genetic" reasons or otherwise)? just laugh and move on.
they're not even worth the frustration or embarrassment you might feel because of it.
no one is that special.

i, for one, most certainly don't want to go out with someone who's thinking about our potential babies based on my looks--that's proper dodgy.

At worst there is a solution

I really need a girl shorter than me, so...that means 5'10/1.78m or under (so that with heels, she'll be around the same height). Other than that, I've dated in the 4'11 to 5'9 range

ah, 5'10 is a good height to be and going out with short girls is good. On the other hand im 6'5 (198cm) and when it comes to girls and their height its just wrong to go out with someone who is under 5'4. Been there, done than and all i can say is i felt like i was walking with a little kid.

haha yeah that might be tough for you. I can only imagine the dilemmas of a Yao Ming. To me, anyone 5'2 or under is fun-size, which isn't a bad thing at all

i'm 158cm...i think it's 5'1 or 5'2....
i think that for girls this height is cute....
but for men to be at that height it's just weird....
i'll never date someone at my height...

I always wanted to be a 6 footer but well genetic limitations drew the line at 5'9 or 175cm for me.

Height to me is only important when it comes to sports, otherwise I see no real advantage unless you're a model.

I agree with Archer, height to me doesn't mean much. I could understand if you were my height which is 5'2'' then we'd have to get used to that. But either way we'd work it out A persons personality and how they see life and how they treat me is the only thing that matters as far as dating goes. Hope this helped =D
