In my city the average height for men is 178.1 cm, while women are 164.8 according to the NSI ... But that is so not true. A lot of the boys that are younger than me are taller ... a lot taller than me, and I am 175 cm. ...

So, people - do not trust those surveys ... They are lying sometimes

true true when i was in germany i could not believe the size of the guys there. one friend there is 6'5" and another is 6'9" and no they r not sports people. one is a mechanic, other is a train driver...

I see that you are 195 cm ... that's a nice height ... As far as I know all that play basketball are tall. And I wonder - is it the sport, or they are just tall? O.o
Same goes for volleyball ...

there are some theories out there which try to explain the ethnics average size. the most popular say it correlates with nations history and wealth/poverty periods and therfore the quantity and quality of the food.
to make it short, the better food, the taller they get.

if you visit a museum dedicated to middle age or even the renaissance in germany you will notice that everything looks as if it was made for hobbits
