I have female friends but they are all acquaintances from work or high school. Are they really friends?

@vietboy..7 years? Do you guys really do everything together that best friends do? I feel the intimacy of a relationship with a similar aged platonic female friend bas limits and expiry date. Sorry.

Most Chinese girls act girly or look girly, and hard to treat them like one of the guys. You will always notice that she's a girl. You can finger poke a guy in the ass hard as a joke but do that to a girl, and that's a criminal offense. My point is guys and girls are different. There are certain unspoken behavioural barriers imposed by society and ourselves that makes it complex.

I think a shallow acquaintances kind of relationship is feasible. Like acquaintances from work, school or a girlfriend of a guy friend. But a very deep best friend for life who exclusively travels together, talks about everything relationship, is not possible nor healthy.

It would make my girlfriend weirded out. And i would feel the same if she keeps hanging out with a male friend at his house all the time. Unless he is gay.

I rather have that kind of best friend relation with either a male platomic friend or a significant other. That becomes more and more the case when you get older.

Actually just yesterday, i came across an old friend from high school. I haven't seen him for years. He was wearing tight shorts and holding hands with another guy. I never even realised he was gay. He also loved that game..

I think it's not impossible to only be friends between a guy and a girl, but that it depends on weather they are mature or they can hold back their feelings.

I had a male best friend whom I was attracted to, while he had a girlfriend. I was okay with that, because I wanted him to be happy. In the end we became a couple (after they broke up, since he also had feelings for me) but when we broke up, the friendship ended as well.
On the other hand, I also already had female bestfriends or close friends who fell in love with me. The first friendship broke because of the feelings, for the other one: She stayed silent about her feelings and only told me about it afterwards. We still are good friends.
So, these problems can be there with two girls are friends as well, depending on the possinility of liking the same sex.

But I currently see, that different sexe friendships can work out:

My male best friend of 2,5 years. I didn't knew and recognized his feelings, because besides treating me well and being very considered, he didn't behaved obvious. He then told me about his feelings and at first it was akward. Before knowing it, I often spoke with him about the guys I liked. He even helped me with one of my exes. Because he wanted me to be happy, with him or without him as my partner. I always told him how good of a friend he was and that he was like a brother for me. I never considered anything more than just friendship. In the end, it only works until know, because he held back for my sake and isn't being selfish.

Yes, why not? If feelings are not involved, there is no problem.
If feelings are involved ... well, you have to think what do you want... if you prefer have that person like just a friend in your life or not.
