Yes of course they can just be friends as long as you don't give them mixed signals and you are both on the same level and you can have a great friendship as friends

Generally a man and a woman can be friends, if they have no romantic attraction to each-other. Everyone can be "friends", it might be short or long-term lasting but it's possible. If there is a one-sided romantic attraction, it's still possible if the one who feels the romantic connection is willing to set aside those feelings and actually be a friend.

agreed..i usually dont act on impulse..i have no problem holding back if im getting to know somebody..regardless of feelingings for them..
