I guess, yes they can be. It depends on their feelings or what each on from they want from the relationship. Or only friendship or something more.

I think yes. Unfortunately I've never been friend with a boy but I am sure it can be. My classmate is a very good friend with a boy, even thought they had some difficuties some years ago when he had a crush on her.

I believe it's possible as long as there is no attraction from both sides. I have friends that I really like mentally and company but I'm not attracted to them on any level and that's why they become like "family" in some way.

Yes it's possible to be friends with a guy (-_-) I myself have one guy best friend, yes he's handsome but i'm totally not attracted to him and he has a girlfriend :DD I'm friends with his girl and she's mature enough to understand that we are just friends and we wont do anything more than play kungfu panda samurai fighters when we are drunk LOL. We both agreed that we are like bro and sis :DD

I have a huge group of guy-friends. Im pretty often the only girl with several guys actually. They are some of my best friends and they mean a lot to me.
I get sad every time someone says that its impossible to have friendship between the opposite genders.

I saw someone posted about attraction earlier in this thread:
I find many of my friends to be really handsome yes, but I would NEVER be able to go beyond friendship with them - Theres no attraction from both sides. The reason why we can be such good freinds is because neither of us have that kind of attraction towards each other, or that the attraction in the past turned into the feeling of friendship instead.

I'm friends with a lot of sluts that I would never consider dating.
And some ugly ones that I wouldn't date either.

This topic remind me of this video but its such a small percentage of interviewer, so it doesn't really mean much..
