SOPA, PIPA, PAPA or whatever isnt going to be passed anytime soon because of strong public disapproval

even if some similar law gets passed, there will always be a loophole to be exploited. Internet technology gets outdated very quickly, so within 10 years networking/Internet is going to be very different from what it is today and there WILL be new copyright exploitations they have to deal with.


And most importantly : Since you, the person reading this, is so smart and intelligent, Im sure you'll find a way to stop SOPA/PIPA/PAPA

And yes both of these have died thanks to, you've guessed it, spreading awareness with the thanks of wikipedia and google largely, the large number of people who've disagreed en masse have forced the representatives to fold under the pressure of the public to vote against. anyhoo just always be aware. like what blue chakra said, told to be dead to be signed in secrecy, ACTA like what was posted above earlier anyone? many more (myself included) hadn't even HEARD of ACTA until the SOPA PIPA awareness spread on t3h int3rw3bs. and i can only assume based on inference that many more of such laws are in the process of being passed/are around without my knowledge. the least one person can do is spread awareness to others, right? isn't that the most utilitarian response? I would only assume so.

look at mark zuckerberg, making $28 billion from his 28% shares in facebook. Can anyone do that without internet? Nope. Can apple even sell a lot of their iOS apps without marketing on the internet? Even you need internet to make a purchase there.

While internet doesn't harm my real life either but i do make money from the net. If i dont know internet i probably would end up helping my father manage his small store. and yes, im proud to say i have bigger business than what he have now. I know there are so many people who are making real money from the internet (and started from ground zero). I hate to say this but without internet you can't innovate much. Look at internet usage 10 years ago, you won't find people tweeting from their phone. Nowadays 50-75% of youth people do it. I have two nephews (4 and 3 years old) that won't do anything but play game on iPad.

I'm a game creator myself and without internet (tbh) i dont know how do I make sales from my game

SOPA and PIPA suck because they are created by the same companies that believe internet sales are threatening them. SOPA & PIPA would never value small/medium sized business and would only favor those very same companies. If you are my competitor, register as a user on my site and simply put a copyrighted video/content on my site and then report it to my web host and you can easily take down my site (while I can't keep reviewing user content all the time). That's what SOPA is, destroying small/medium sized internet businesses. You don't know how silly a copyright can be. They want total domination, they want total control. Of course im against this legislation because it's threatening my business with American traffic and sooner or later (if it gets passed) the Asian countries would also do the same (like always)

The reason why Google and Facebook are against this legislation is because they know they can be sued for exactly the same reason. You want YouTube in trouble? Just upload a video of yourself singing a copyrighted song.

Because every time I attend the class, my lecturer will ask us about this and ask what we had research on this, yes I do know what is SOPA or PIPA. Just tired of discussing it, and I just wanna come here and to chillax and I just said that we don't wanna say about SOPA or PIPA, it doesn't mean I'm backwardass, just tired of hearing the same old thing. The reason why we all come here, just wanna relax and meet Non Asian girls/ Asian guys. So yea, no offense on anyone, no hard feelings.

You know what's a good way of not discussing it? Not freaking commenting in the thread that mentions it in the freaking title. That way, you don't have to discuss it and/or make yourself look backasswards.
