I am so certain that I have heard of Jacques Loeb before, but I reckon that now I will remember him for good :cheer: He wrote a really cool book called "The Mechanistic Conception of Life" (1912), believing that pretty much everything about life could be eventually explained in terms of physical and chemical laws  Here's a nice quote:
"Our wishes and hopes, disappointments and sufferings have their source in instincts which are comparable to the light instinct of the heliotropic animals. The need of and the struggle for food, the sexual instinct with its poetry and its chain of consequences, the maternal instincts with the felicity and the suffering caused by them, the instinct of workmanship, and some other instincts are the roots from which our inner life develops. For some of these instincts the chemical basis is at least sufficiently indicated to arouse the hope that their analysis, from the mechanistic point of view, is only a question of time."

I learned that a troll always comes in different sizes, names, location and even under fake pics. But what they can't change is the way they do what they do.

This is very embarrassing. I just learned today that Arthur Schopenhauer's book The World as Will and Representation is the identical work as The World as Will and Idea. :S

learned this from wiki about the number of aboriginal australian languages:

At the time of initial European settlement, over 250 languages were spoken, but it is currently estimated that 120 to 145 of these remain in use, and all but 13 are considered to be endangered.

250. amazing.
