What is your reason for not drinking alcohol?

For those who don't drink I would be interested in knowing your reasons behind this choice? I like some 50% Asians get the infamous 'red-flush' whereby out face turns bright red like a beetroot or tomato and our faces get very hot like a kettle. It will only take me a glass of wine or a pint of beer before this characteristic 'gene' to kick in. As a result I avoid drinking alcohol apart from some special occasions where I will have a couple of mouthfuls while still being weary of not trying to induce my 'red-flush' submerging. Furthermore I have tried various different types of alcohol and none of them taste that good tbh .

Also let us know what drink do you normally order when you go out?

im not drinking alcohol because of fitness. since i work out i have to eat clean to keep my body healthy and in shape. unlike other people i dont need alcohol to have fun in clubs, pubs etc. you can also have fun when you go out without alcohol.

if i go out i only order non alcohol drinks like water or non alcohol cocktails. i only drinking a glass of champagne in special occasions like wedding etc. but i try as good as possible to stay away from alcohol.

I get physically sick... the taste is just terrible, whether it's Champaign or wine or siders and so forth. I tried drinking and it didn't like me .

for one, fortunately or unfortunately, i can bring the crazy without alcohol (or drugs), so i don't need it.

secondly, i don't know if i have alcoholism in my genes and i don't want to find out.

third, i never tried drinks long enough to get a taste for them or to care. usually with anything i'm curious about, i only have to try it once and then i'm good.

also, i already have favorite drinks that i like so much (hot chocolate and such), i don't need any other kind.

I personally don't like the taste of quite a lot of alcoholic drinks. But I think I don't drink/get drunk because of all the dangers that can occur. I'm such a scaredy-cat haha. Plus none of my family really drink so I lack exposure to it I guess.

being on a board where very few people post makes me want to start drinking.

I really enjoy drinking, But! I try to keep it down, mostly for practical reasons such as if you are involved in any sport it will mess up your recovery, I get mad hangovers which tend to take away a ton of energy that I wanna spend on something else, also I used to work with a lot of alcoholics who had wasted themselves and their lives in a way that wasn't really "inspiring". My grandfather though didn't drink because of political reasons, but thats another story.
