What is your reason for not drinking alcohol?

Im a social drinker

I've seen how it has affected family members of mine and not only that but I also don't drink because of my religious beliefs(Mormon), we don't drink or smoke. I choose not to drink.

I enjoy pushing the limits of the glow with the hard stuff. Particularly Jameson, my bad-decision drink of choice heh

However, one day my doctor smacked my cheeks together, squished my whole face, and said, "What do you think you are, a cowboy? Drink some beer like a normal college kid. You're breaking your liver really, really fast. Yadda yadda yadda."

So that's my reason for not drinking much anymore. Because it got my old-ass, super Korean doctor to somehow make being a cowboy kind of offensive.

Because I'v been sick like I was drunk before and I don't want to have that feeling again.
Sure I'll have a shot of red wine, it's healthy, but no more than a shot of something that's not so high in alcohol.

i dont have a reason

I used to be VERY against drinking alcohol. I even made a friend cry once because I seriously was NOT a big fan and was open about my dislike towards it. Part of the reason is me trying to stay "pure" and "toxic-free" and healthy from it, since I don't smoke, or do weed or anything else.
The other reason is because there is alcoholism in my family, and I've seen how destructive it can be for both the person drinking and those around them.

However, I have recently changed my mind, not because I got crazy one night or anything like that. But I have had my share of drinking. It was only two drinks nothing crazy, at a bar. They were sweet drinks cos I absolutely HATE beer. Anyways, I got tipsy and my roommate was with me the whole time, so I was in safe hands. I really don't like the feeling, and the next morning I saw it as a waste of money.. But to others it can be fun, and I have come to terms that it is not bad, and everyone has the right to drink and get drunk if they so desire. When it comes to drinking and driving or drunk driving, (which is something my family thinks is "ok" to do) I step in and nag until that person has a safe ride home. Drinking and driving is SO careless and should not be taken lightly. It can cause serious damage to yourself and others.

So, I guess, even though I don't necessarily think the way I used to back in high school, I do accept it as a form of recreation. As long as you are safe, and don't harm yourself or others, I think it's fine.

I only drink socially..

I don't mind having a glass of wine or beer every once in a while.
Though I usually drink as little as possible, since I can't take it very well.

On the other hand, I had my fair share of an alcoholic bf - so no thanks.
