It doesn't apply just to the Western community, it applies to many, HK especially. It is bad in HK. A HK guy (from experience) likes a stable home married life with a bit on the side and the problem is growing!
The girls are not that sexually adventurous or interested here and are therefore named 'dead fish', maybe the problem would not be so bad if the girls satisfied their man and didn't just revolve their life around $$$$$$ ! I blame the internet too!

it's a universal problem I'm afraid :P. Maybe it just seems like it happens more in the west because getting divorced has become quite 'normal' here, where as in some cultures it's still a bit of a taboo

well i think it's something that is kinda cultural...let's see, my mom got married when she was 23 and she dated my father since she was 15, therefore she didn't experience much and i guess back then they both got married "just because" plus the pressure from the families, i believe they somehow "loved" each other and cared for each other, then my brother and i were born and after a few years they got a divorce (i was 9 and my brother was 5)...do i blame them? no, because at least they realized they didn't love each other anymore and they protected my brother and me from a bad enviroment at home...my dad got married again two years later and he's been with his new wife since 8 years now and my mom had two or three "boyfriends" after my dad and i don't think that's bad at all, and when i talk with my parents about it, they tell me they don't want me or my brother to make the same mistakes they did...i guess back then marriage was something everyone HAD to do no matter what, and now it's a bit different...

Because Twi-hard fans see their roles models in Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson cheating and breaking up so they follow suit.

Lol, I think you misunderstood something. Just because a couple gets divorced it doesn't mean they aren't loyal. That's a stupid logic.
If you want a woman that stays with you no matter how bad you treat her, you maybe rather should buy you a woman.

Fredt428 wrote: Well, I don't want to point the finger at who, but why the society has become like this be it Westerners or Asians, why they wanna divorced when they have lovely partner and kids. This thing I don't understand, if you are not sure with your love or don't love someone that much, then they should not proceed to marry and have the kids. The kids are the victims for their selfish thoughts and I can't stand that.

People change with time and so do feelings. What's not to get on that? Noone divorces when they are happy with their partnership, dude. Obviously they couldn't handle being together anymore. There are so many cases where it is the best that partners divorce for example because they are acting very violent to eachother and/or to the kids. Do you really expect someone to stay with the partner just so they can say that they are "loyal"? Loyality doesn't mean you have to be such a dumbass to put up with all this shit.

Honestly, stop that black-white-thinking and don't be so ignorant to condemn people and situations you don't even know.

i blame hollywood. They give false senses of HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Show how wonderful and happy and stress free life is after marriage. Then when peopel are hit with reality they feel they havent found what they were looking for and instead of accepting reality, they divorce and go out to find that HAPPILY EVER AFTER again...not knowing there is no such thing.

Many people arent happy with their own lives so they rely on thier spouse to make them happy. I feel like this is the downfall of all relationships.

How bout this one? With all the pretty hearts on the front, I think I know where this ones going.
Yup "Happy Valentines Day sweetheart, I love you." Isn't that sweet? Ain't love grand?
This is exactly what I'm talking about. What does that even mean, love? Do you know? Do you? Anybody?
If somebody gave me this card Mr. Vance, I'd eat it.

It's these cards, and the movies and the pop songs, they're to blame for all the lies and the heartache, everything. We're responsible. I'M responsible. I think we do a bad thing here. People should be able to say how they feel, how they really feel, not ya know, some words that some stranger put in their mouth. Words like love, that don't mean anything. Sorry, I'm sorry, I um, I quit. There's enough bullshit in the world without my help
